The winner of this week's deal vote is Plei - a Florida-based startup building a platform for users to find pickup soccer games anywhere & anytime!

The Problem:

Soccer (or “football” for our global members 🙂) is indeed a beautiful game. But, recreational players face the following challenges when organizing their own games:

• Finding the right number of players in similar skill levels ⚽️ 

• Finding available fields to reserve just for them 🔒️ 

• Manually coordinating logistics, field payments, no-shows, and more 💲 

The Solution:

To make playing The Beautiful Game “as easy as ordering an Uber driver”, Plei has built a consumer app & business SaaS platform for anyone to host or join a soccer game in their city. Plei’s software matches players with available fields at local soccer facilities - ensuring each game is easy, convenient, and fun.

The Team:

Founded by two brothers, Sebastian and Alejandro Duque, the team combines a passion for soccer and an entrepreneurial spirit. Aside from one crowdfunding round in 2020, the team has self-funded and bootstrapped its way to profitability over 6 years.

Traction:

• ~$7M in lifetime revenue: $790k in 2021 -> $1.7M in 2022 -> $4.5M in 2023

• $3.3M total revenue generated for sports facilities

• 180k total users (players) on the Plei app

• 40k total games hosted using Plei (30k+ in 2023 alone)

• Partnerships with 130 sports facilities in 15 US cities including NYC, LA, Miami, and Houston
